Additionally how is it that the Medal of Honor, the Navy Cross, several instances of leading forces that prevented major American loss, and over 30 aerial kills only warrants him making captain? Who the Hel was running the show, Game Stop? It states he was a commander at the time, so he was promoted only once after that epic act of valor?

McCampbell is the Navy's highest scoring ace and America's third highest scorer. McCampbell also has the record for most kills in one mission. McCampbell is second highest for most kills in one day; first highest is Germany's Eric Hartmann who had twelve kills in one day spread over four missions.
