Yet he is a stellar example. He made a mistake. He owned it. He took his lumps. He never deflected, denied, or blamed anyone else. He did it. He stood up. He paid for it. A lot of people can learn from his example.

Although I have seen Enlisted get much worst for a ND, it's still a good message to send to those service members. In America, a CSM can have two NDs while in Ranger School and still graduate so this should be the standard set, IMHO

You're right of course. But in the US, it's rare to see a flag officer pay for something like this (I don't mean money, I mean consequences) while elsewhere, some enlisted schmuck DOES pay for it. So I really look at this guy as someone to look up to -- you don't often see people at his level stand tall.
