Ehhh betting against Musk is not a sure proposition. Musk is just the visionary -- he PAYS the science people to, well, science. You can be sure that he was informed of everything in this vid...and then assured that the problems could be overcome. The thing is that he's willing to pour money into such flights of fancy. I'd bet my last dollar we'll see some form of this within the next 50 years. To quote Arthur C. Clarke, "We'll see a space elevator 50 years after everyone stops laughing at it."
I think it's important to remember that human high-tech is sill nascent. Materials science is still nascent. The explosions of knowledge and tech over the last 50 years are going to seem trivial at the end of the next 50 years.

SN Greg Wright Is it possible in the future? Yes, but with today's tech, I think it may be Musk's "bridge too far." My biggest concern is the effects of re-compression of the near vacuum environment. Until they can reliably counteract these effects, the "Hyperloop" will be too dangerous for everyday use.
BTW, what did you think of his second video about it?

SSgt Mark Lines - The simple answer is that the capsules are pressurized. This is almost certainly the case. Ergo, people will step into a 1 atmo capsule from the (obviously) 1 atmo outside. All this would require would be a simple seal at each end of the capsule, so that when it opens vacuum isn't lost fore and aft. There shouldn't ever be a change in pressure for passengers.
I didn't watch the second, and I can't right now. I'll do it tomorrow and get back to you.

SSgt Mark Lines - The second video certainly debunks the detractors of this guy, with regards to the vacuum/low pressure argument. However, it did nothing to convince me that the hyperloop is 'debunked'.

its ironic in many ways that so many people wanted to defend the hyperloop by claiming it was Elon Musks invention, and that hes a genius who invented rocket...
Here is the second video he made on the subject:
