Uncalled for shooting from my viewpoint.
Plenty of cops available and no visible struggle. I've watched it time and again. I do not see the visible threat to use deadly force.
But, Charlotte is burning?
Senseless

SGT Gregory Lawritson If someone starts to pull a gun, you shoot. If you continue to wait and see you end up dead.

SGT Gregory Lawritson - MAJ (Join to see) - CPT you are correct in your assessment that if they pull a gun and you wait your probably dead.... SGT you are correct that non lethal force can be employed and (was in this case)
While using non lethal is a risk to the officers it is mitigated by numbers, and situational awareness. Sadly police are expected to get it correct 100% of the time and most days its a shit show. This was a bad call and the butcher wants his pay.

SGT Gregory Lawritson There was a trigger that caused both officers to fire at the same time, prudence would have suggested a Taser was the better option, but something happened that prompted both officers to fire. This specific subject had plenty of opportunities to comply, the fact that he was walking towards his car against orders, then he put his hands down near his waist. Perhaps if he hadn't been so far gone on PCP that he stopped his vehicle in the middle of a busy highway he'd still be alive. My recommendation is Taser first, if anyone is non-responsive borderline hostile, COPs should have full justification to Taser someone much earlier in the situation, like when he started walking away from the cops before he got to his car. That way the situation is diffused much easier, The accused is still alive, albeit in pain and embarrassed, but the cops need more leniency on who they taser. As far as the officer is concerned, anyone who disobeys a lawful order from an armed police officer in my book shows hostile intent. We need to teach our citizens to obey and respect the police. Use videos and evidence to present your case before the court, the fight is against the judicial and legislative systems not against the executive police officers. Too much restraint on our police just reduces out ability to police our nation significantly increasing the crime and danger to our communities.

We've seen this before where wrong doing officers are indicted or charged to appease the public. My question is will she be found guilty or not guilty of these charges?
