Talk about a Base to avoid like the plague... Glad there is no reason to send the Navy there.

Why does this keep happening on that base?

I ask myself the same question. It's weird because as a soldier stationed here at Fort Hood, the soldiers are decent and the base doesn't seem all that bad to be quite honest. Killeen? Now that's a different story. There is good and bad parts of Killeen IMO.

Also, not sure if you heard but a woman in an off post/on post housing area was beaten and robbed by a man posing as a maintainence worker. The off post/on post housing areas don't have gate guards and are just open to anyone to drive in and out at any times during the day. You won't ever see an MP there. Perhaps this could open up discussions to having MP's begin patrolling those areas.

SPC(P) (Join to see) I think it's just a large base, and that's the reason so much happens there. I was on WFH, so I lived the life.

SSG Jordan Gaudard - I don't know... I live by JBLM and the senseless deaths here are pretty rare, I've been seeing Ft. Hood A LOT lately

SPC(P) (Join to see) - I will have to agree with SSG Gaudard that so much happens there because of the size of the base. But I think most of it is Killeen is just a horrible "military town". I grew up a military brat and have been stationed at several different locations and Killeen is by far the worst I have seen. The article says that the Killeen PD is investigating meaning that the shooting occurred off base; this just adds to my point of it being Killeen and not necessarily the base itself.
