Top 10 Shocking Ship to Ship Collision

One of those alarms you never want to hear on a Ship. I've heard it once. The Pilot and Tugs were putting us to Berth at Hotel Pier in Hawaii after participating as the Lead Ship/Presidential Flag Ship in the Parade of Ships 50th Anniversary of VJ Day. They nosed us into the Pier and then I heard the Collision Alarm sound as they were swinging our Ass around to tie up the other side. After we secured from Manning the Rails I asked the guys aft what the Hell had just happened. They have just put up the Aft Mast to Shift Colors (Take the US Flag off the Mast and Move it to the Fantail) and the Tugs swung us so close that the Aft Flag Stage Keyed the Oiler on the next Pier Over.
