These are some great combat photos. Brings back some memories, except for the snow.
In early 2011, the Army’s 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne, was deployed to Afghanistan’s Kunar province during one of the deadliest years of the war.
Dubbed “No Slack Battalion,” the unit operated out of far-flung positions deep in Taliban-held territory. They were in regular, if not constant, contact with the enemy.

I was on this deployment just down the road in the Pesch RV with 1/327. Dude eating snow was one of my good buddies, we came up though osut, abn school, then assigned to 327 reg together.

Yeah he made it back, that deployment was tough on the Brigade though casualty wise

F that snow.... spent 4 days in a cloud soaking wet then they moved us to a mountain peak at night...covered in snow. NFS

LTC (Join to see), I don't doubt that. With the weather, the mountains, and the enemy knowing every move being made, it's a wonder there aren't more fire fights and injuries or KIA in that stinking war. They are some crazy bastards.
