Chicago, ILL is on the list of cities I have no desire to visit ever lobe live there LTC (Join to see). The Mayor Daley political machine may no longer be in charge; but, it certainly seems that corruption dies a hard death in Chicago.
For a city which outlaws guns it is certainly ironic that so many are killed or wounder by guns.

I did a breakdown of Chicago shootings and where they are happening. The picture shows the communities being affected. From what I found is 17% percent of the population is being affected by over half of the gun related violence. Its beyond out of control. Recently way out in my safe suburb 20 miles due west of Chicago - Glen Ellyn - a college student was kidnapped off the street in broad daylight. He was forced to withdrawal money from various ATM's - $2,000. His captors gave him $20 and left him downtown Chicago where he immediately notified the police. Very lucky not to have been killed. One suspect that is wanted is Jeremy Jones - not the Chicago Bears one - but the gang member one with a rather long rap sheet. I was trying to see if the 2 whites shot for every black was correlated to criminal activity in areas with abnormal racial distributions. Chicago in general from the 2000 census is 31% white, 32% black and 29% Hispanic. I would bet other cities and urban areas do not match the 63% white 17% black national demographics. I'm curious if BLM is taking this into consideration as based on localized demographics for Chicago it would mean cops are oppressing whites not blacks as it should be 1 to 1 not 2 to 1.

Unfortunately, some on the left are immune from the effects of statistical analysis. Somehow, someway, someone on the left will defend this information.

Unfortunately few people understand multiple regression analysis. Typically when statistical modeling is mentioned the eyes glaze over.

SPC David S. - Dave thanks for explaining the standard deviation, the Sigma and the failure to reject in easy terms. LOL.

Is this a gun problem or a gang problem? Making it difficult for honest citizens to defend themselves with the same weapons the gangs have has proven disastrous. This is what the left has done to Chicago, not guns, they gave criminals access to unarmed citizens.

You may be right and now California is making it a felony, this January 2017, for anyone with a 30 round magazine or if your great grandfather left a 20 round BAR magazine you are in jail too. So they will destroy lives because California Governor Jerry Brown and others are doing it Chicago Style!

Criminals who have felonies won't care but guys like me and you are history with a felony. I can't wait for the law to come to a proposition so it can be voted down in California.
