Well, we tried to invade and overthrow them, didn't work. We tried to assassinate their leader, didn't work. Then we refused to trade with them for decades. That doesn't seem to have done anything, either.
Exactly what is the reason we're not supposed to like Cuba?

I'm not sure about that either. I think it was a Kennedy Castro thing. Not sure Capt Michael Greene.

...That has one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel. He is far from the revolutionary he was during the Bay of Pigs invasion. Also, like I said, for all of America's platitudes about second chances and forgiveness, why has the American government held on to something that could only be called a 60 year grudge?

SSG Michael Hartsfield - Asked and answered. Releasing political prisoners and respecting human rights would go a long way to healing the division

Mexico may not have a great relationship with Cuba either. Perhaps that has something to do with U.S./Cuba. Very early 90s A friend went to Cuba from a university in Mexico when he was studying for a semester there. The several week cultural visit to Cuba was sponsored by and arranged by that university in Mexico. When it was time to leave Cuba, Mexico would not allow him to return to Mexico "because he was Arab" (Omani).
After several weeks, Iraqi diplomatic folks in place in Cuba were able to negotiate his return to Mexico.
Also, many folks who are not yet social security age think of Che Guevara is "the revolutionary", not Castro who seems to have gained respect for Cuba's evolution, despite the long-term economic blockade.

I've had Cuban cigars, I believe them to be way overrated. They aren't bad but The DR, Honduras, Nicaragua, and even parts of Mexico put out better, more consistent cigars. Most of the seed stock came from Cuba during the exodus, as did the experience of the rollers and the families.

I don't smoke but I wouldn't mind trying a Cuban cigar to see what all the fuss is about.
