That's called in Law Enforcement circle as low hanging fruit or thinning the herd. However, can't ding them for being creativity....

They had a good cover story at any rate. I don't think the idea was actually that bad. With technology today, I have a hard time believing they'd be able to deny their whereabouts if caught, anyhow. What better way to act normal that to broadcast the trip via social media?
