My school was definitely affected by this. We (Pepperdine) were recently sued over title 9 discrimination due to two female basketball players in a relationship.

None of the school's damned business if two females, two males, or a male and a female are in a relationship. Unless the school is a non-profit (not sure if Pepperdine is non-profit, but I don't think so) they should have NO RIGHT TO DISCRIMINATE.

Pepperdine is in a wealthy area, where the expectations on students are based on what the surrendering community believes in, but Pepperdine should only concentrate in educating the students.

LTC (Join to see) - Pepperdine University is an American private, not-for-profit, coeducational research university affiliated with the Churches of Christ. So, they do have the right to discriminate, but that doesn't make it right. It just means they follow their beliefs and I honestly think this was a one off type of issue. I have seen nothing but acceptance and professionalism at Pepperdine. The reason of the suit was an assistant coach that took issue to them and tried to use the school's religion as a way to work around the system.

I know they are affiliated as I looked at their law school. Just not sure if non or for profit.

I went to Loyola Marymount Law School, which is also a religiously affiliated (Jesuit) school, but unlike Pepperdine they champion gay rights, minority rights and freedom of ALL religions and freedom from religion.

In short, Loyola shows what is best about about religion instead of where religion is ugly.
