Somebody please explain to me why we give Israel a billion dollars in military equipment each year as foreign aid. I'm not aware of anything they give us.
The reason the Arab sheikh in charge of OPEC quadrupled oil prices for the US in 1973--causing CEOs to cut costs by sending jobs overseas--was because we supported Israel during their war. Now our manufacturing economy is gone, and Red China is rapidly gaining power.
Seems to me we have no reason to support Israel. (Unless, of course, you want to bring about the Second Coming of Jesus by making WWIII happen as soon as possible.)

LTC (Join to see) - Thanks for the link. Did I read correctly that MacArthur awarded LBJ a SILVER STAR merely for the act of sitting quietly while his airplane departing the combat area?

Capt Michael Greene - I agree with you it was a lame award for being a Congressman deputized to a Lt. Commander but the pilots on his PBY did not get the Silver Star-JUST HIM!

LTC (Join to see) - Interesting. I knew MacArthur had faults, but this momentary lapse of integrity surprises me.

Being anti-Israel isn't necessarily a bad thing. I am anti-Israeli government myself, though for different reasons. My reason is very simple. The USS Liberty Incident!

Greg,I see your point as a Navy man. You and I talked about this like men. Maybe someday it will be like when I was at the USS Arizona Memorial in 2012 and I was surprised to see a large wreath next to all names of the fallen from a Japanese Shinto Shrine. That wreath said in so many words I am sorry. Hopefully someday the Israeli Government will do the same and make restitution. Time heals all. The same leaders who made that bad decision are retired or past on.

LTC (Join to see) I have enough problems with American politics than to meddle in Canadian politics. But you have a point.

I am the Canary in a coal mine. I just want to make sure the idiocy we have in Canada does not go South. I did 3 stories today that discussed 1. Homegrown white guy Islamic Jihadist detonates device while police tried to get him 2. Ontario Canada Health Care short of supplies. 3. This story of the idiot Israel-hating Green Party leader who is stepping down. I know your situation is f-d up with the last 2 candidates standing. I have avoided that mess and focused on aviation for the most part. Im just warning or asking if the Greens in the USA are this left wing?

SFC William Farrell - I updated the story with a better report.http://www.cbc.ca/news/terror-threat-arrest-rcmp-1.3715969

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation tipped off the RCMP about a person who was potentially planning a terrorist attack in Canada, says Reuters, which led the Mounties to a small Ontario town where a known ISIS sympathizer died in a confrontation with officers.
