Ok...this is one of the most disgusting pieces I've seen on CNN. Granted, it's an opinion piece. Michael Phelps is perhaps the greatest Olympic athlete in recorded history. Yet this author wants him to give something up so that, essentially, the 2nd place winner in the Flag-bearer vote gets a participation trophy. This isn't about racism. It's about merit. Merit determined through a democratic vote, ffs. One of the comments on the article said it best (and I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but I think most rational people will see my point):
"This is a simple "feel bad because you are white and successful" article." /end quote.

No. He has more than earned the privilege and it was voted on by the athlete's.
CNN has really turned to shit. Today Jeanne Moos did a report on the size of Trump's hands. Seriously. I guess there's nothing more important going on in the world.

I view this a little differently . You are asking Micheal Phelps to dishonor those who voted to give nim the honor and to honor him? It isn't Phelps to give, it is the voting athletes to give. Those that trained, sweated, endured, and over came gave that priviledge to Phelps. I think the babies diapers need changing!
