This unkind statement Trump made about the PH the Veteran gave him still resonates in my mind. The guy has no manners or concern for others feelings. What a disgusting thing to tell a soldier, who just gave him his earned PH, and look him in the face and say "I always wanted one of these, but not the hard way, the easy way." Thinking about him while writing this makes my blood boil. What a CHUMP!

I think you are overreacting to it. I think he was unsure what to say, wanted to say something to show the appreciation for the thought and it came out the way it did. No one can give anyone their purple heart except as a token of appreciation. I think he meant that he thought it was nice that someone wanted to give him the medal and it was meaningful that someone would want to give it to him but he did not want to get wounded to get one (no one wants to get wounded except John Kerry). The "this was much easier" comment could be interpreted as recognition that Lt Col Dorfman did a lot more to earn it than Trump did to have it given to him. Relax.

Cpl Jeff N., I watched it live and what Trump said about receiving the PH wasn't an accident. Why couldn't he have just thanked the vet, and give him a hug, and make big deal about it, instead of saying something, that sounded like a slap in the face and trying to be funny. I'm relaxed Jeff, just saying...

SGT (Join to see) You might be looking for a slap in the face where non was intended. He didn't thank him the way you wanted him to. I get it. Trump gains nothing by being given a purple heart medal. For him it is only a token of appreciation, he earned nothing.

Sometimes there are no words to properly or adequately express yourself. I think he was trying to be witty, but that can produce an epic fail. He should have just just hugged him, thanked him for his service-but I bet Trump doesn't get a lot of honest thank you moments without ulterior motives.

SGT (Join to see) - I heard a quote on the radio this am driving to work that reminded me of your post. Someone said that Trump needs to show some humility on a certain topic (pick one, right??) and Steven K Bannon asked if humility was really a character trait of DJT.
I think that everyone does have humility somewhere, deep down but some people have learned that humility opens yourself up for the potential to hurt their ego. It's rare if not impossible for a person of such a large ego to have genuine humility. I'd like to get feedback on that last statement please.
