It seems that the DNC's defense is to attack Russia/Putin's motive in releasing the emails. I have family and friends who are Democrats (forgive me) who have been saying the same thing. But, "what difference does it make at this point!" Who cares why they are releasing them? When I first heard of it, I suspected that the Russians were sitting on them because they thought Hillary was a sure bet to win and they could use the emails to blackmail her. Now that her election is becoming less and less plausible, Putin may be using them to curry favor with Trump or even drive a wedge between the U.S. and it's Middle Eastern allies (yes, we have a couple). After all, those in the Middle East who invested so much in Hillary aren't going to be happy with the U.S. if she loses and they don't get any return on their investment.
