Much of the info in this very useful piece reinforces what RP's 1LT Sandy Annala recently posted along the same vein - the tremendous difference between range firing and 'real life' situation; the mindset necessary to shoot someone, split second decision making, etc. In addition no matter how justified you feel you are you will be scrutinized from all angles by second-guessers after the fact for any flaw in your thought processes. Often a person has a duty to retreat and must prove why he wasn't able to before blasting the bad-boy. Trained police officers are investigated, indicted, and tried every day for shooting someone in the line of duty. The average citizen doesn't have even that training to fall back on. Carry a firearm at your own risk; it is a constitutional right but there are also constitutional responsibilities and accountabilities in doing so.

Can't get enough of this training, especially if you're going to carry. I'm amazed at the amount of people who don't have insurance, especially in TX where it's very cheap.
As a gun owner, the husband of a gun owner, the father of shooters and hunters, the son/nephew/grandchild of gun owners... I thought this "video" would be something productive to watch. After 8 minutes of listening to some guy talk I lost interest because he NOTHING of value to say. He made a sales pitch, talked about the video, made another sales pitch, talks about guns and gun stores, made another pitch, then informed me as to why the FF or REW are disabled (claims this is because it is a "training video"; actually I think it is because he knows his "training video" sucks and he doesn't want to miss out on an opportunity hold an audience captive).
Sham of a video, if anyone has sat thru it can they just give me the 7 points? Because I don't think I can sit thru 7 points if he takes at least 8 minutes to even start. Actually, when does it start?
