Obama: 'Longstanding Tradition' of 'Contentious and Messy' Protest Needed in America

I can't argue with President Obama about the fact that America has a longstanding tradition of contentious and messy protest, and that it has produced good. However, I'm not sure that we're picking the correct issues to be contentious and messy about these days. What say you?
