Biologically and evolutionary, humans are not monogamous. It is really a social construct we established a long time ago for a multitude of reasons. There is no practical and logical reason why you shouldn't be able to marry as many people as you want - male or female - as long as we understand that marriage is about love and desire to be with people rather than a way to get benefits. I see no reason why a man with two or three wives can't have them all at his bedside with him if he goes into the hospital - but also, there is no reason for a business to extend working benefits to adults outside the original employee either. Benefits for spouses would have to be rethought and calculated - and possibly eliminated.
