I'm curious. I watched a documentary last night about Judas Priest and their court issue in 1990 where 2 teenagers committed suicide (one survived with substantial wounds but did commit suicide 3 years later and was successful) over a song, saying there was a subliminal message saying "do it".
Here’s the background story: On Dec. 23, 1985, after repeatedly listening to Stained Class, Sparks, Nevada residents James Vance, 20, and Raymond Belknap, 18, made a pact to kill themselves. The youths, who had a long history of violent behavior as well as drug and alcohol abuse, grabbed a 12-gauge, sawed-off shotgun and entered the nearby courtyard of the Community First Church of God. Belknap held the gun under his chin and pulled the trigger, dying instantly. Then Vance picked up the weapon, which was slippery with his friend’s blood. He reloaded it, placed the barrel under his chin, and fired. The exploding shell shattered the lower portion of his face, but did not kill him.
The whole debate about the subliminal messaging in music, is a hear-say thing. It's like with EVPs within haunted houses; whatever the sound is, it's perceived by the person.
I came across a little video a while back called "subliminal messaging" and it had Queens "Another One Bites the Dust". The part where you hear Freddie singing and it's just clapping, they reversed the part and its perceived to be "Everyone Loves to Smoke Marijuana". I didn't hear that.
I have my own opinions about this and I don't want to cause a huge issue over it; I am just curious as to what others have to say about this.
