Sleeve rolling, in garrison, in the infantry? Tell me you are joking please. I remember the BDUs quite well and many units with their sleeves rolled up in garrison. But not us, hell no! The Army already looks like a walking garbage can at the moment. We once had pride, standards. Pressed uniforms and mirror shined boots in garrison. Sure the beret was a horrible idea, I will agree with that! But this, in already trashy looking uniform? Senseless.

This was a huge thing to my husband. When he had BDUs he was soo happy; rolled sleeves, very lightweight. When the ACUs came into play, he didn't like the idea of having sleeves down, the material was uncomfortable. I have NWU which I think are the same material as ACUs and after a few washings, they become comfortable.

SGT (Join to see) - I'd do it even it was in regulation. "Sir, it's 115 degrees out. I'm authorizing rolled sleeves." lol

OMG, it did get that hot in Nam. I flew in Hueys so my air was cooler. When I had to go on a short patrol, I burned up.

SGT (Join to see) - When I was in Bahrain, a couple shipmates from my command had shore patrol for their duty day and they were in civies with lanyards to ID them as part of the command (also the walkie-talkie also pointed them out too).

Capt Gregory Prickett, I forgot about how stiff they were. I prefer yours, but that's what we were issued. I used to have the Tiger camo, but it shrunk up too much as I got older. LOL

Now is it only for garrison or are there going to be problems for field and heat cat environments.

I haven't been around for the BDU's but I've heard great things about them, I.e. The ability to roll your sleeves. I think this will enable Soldiers to workout more too! Gotta have nice guns to roll them sleeves haha...WIN WIN!

In my humble opinion all though it's not ideal lets all remember that we signed up for The United States Army. Plain and simple.......Keep your knees bent slightly and don't believe anyone says you cannot over hydrate

SSG (Join to see) - Yeah I've heard that a lot. It more so showed who took pride in their appearance and had the discipline to take care of their uniforms. I do know individuals who just genuinely don't know how to take care of their uniforms or themselves in general but they are great Rangers and Soldeirs lol. It's sad though because the human psyche relies heavily on first impressions.
