It would be great if the league retired his number. He meant the world to the sport.

1stSgt (Join to see) I thought they were going to do so during the finals game on Sunday night. I thought it would have been a great tribute. Maybe save it for opening night of next season. Have a mass ceremony with several games starting at the same time across time zones, all raising the banner with Mr. Hockey's number.

I have to disagree. Orr was a great player, and he was a huge icon to the Bruins, but he was not on the same level as Gordie Howe.

He changed the game for defensemen. So how is that he did nothing for the game? When he comes in and changes the way the defense plays.
