Interesting, but sad. Those were some brave, dedicated men who joined as soon as they got back, and only one survived the war. I'd say it's more than interesting, PO3 Steven Sherrill.

SGT (Join to see) What I found interesting was the issuing of rifles to young kids, because they were kids, with no training, and saying here guard this. The fact that they were so scared they were shooting at falling coconuts I cannot even imagine what it must have been like. Then the real fear that they were going to be torpedoed en route back to San Francisco, just an amazing story.

It sure is PO3 Steven Sherrill. Those boys had to grow up real fast, just like all kids who join the service. It's a shame only one made it through the war. Thanks for your comment Steven.
