The enemy, of my enemy, is my friend. Libertarians have only bedded with Republicans because we both hate the huge government of the liberals and their socialist agenda.
Most Libertarians could give a shit less about abortion other than it is a personal issue and the government should have not have a say in what an individual does with their body. We are not Conservatives and the sooner we part ways from the stigma of Bible thumpers that want to rule by religious teachings the better. Then we may be able to attract younger, smarter, more diverse group of people.

My father and most of the family are "union" people and vote straight Democrat. I have always been a Libertarian. I think that my dad is starting to see the light. I do not think that he could stomach voting for Hillary.

A1C (Join to see) The party has no policy on abortion. We believe that your choice is between you and your God(or not God). It is the no more the responsibility of the government to say yes or no on abortion as it is their responsibility to tell you you must have open heart surgery. Your morality issues should have nothing to do with the federal law.

Libertarianism is an umbrella term for an economic ideology that masquerades as a political party. I believe the two party political system works, the increase in divisiveness over the last decade or so is largely due to the media stoking the coals of differences among Americans resulting in an indifferent populous, and my political leanings are between me and the ballot box.

Democracy is a messy process. If you want efficiency and effectiveness in government, then privatize the entire bureaucracy! If the government and the bureaucracy worked with extreme efficiency the way that you and your libertarian friends want it to work - there would be absolutely NO checks and balances on anything the government did. NO checks and balances in the American Republic is a very dangerous ideology. This means your fanatical libertarian values that you use to so contemptuously scoff at the American Republic and its form of democracy undermines the system. We can split hairs over who you think is qualified to run for president when the Constitution specifically states "a natural born citizen" and at least 35 years of age, but I highly doubt that your opinion, or my opinion in the grand scheme of politics matters two spits! So, don't sit there on your porcelain throne and cast aspersions at me or act as judge, jury, or God with an axe to grind because of your confusion of the American political system.

It has never been a party that gave concern to the other two, I believe it has been a party that only takes votes away from the other two as evidenced by history. I haven't seen a truly viable Libertarian candidate yet. I mean one that gives serious challenge to a D or an R....Haven't seen it yet!

That is because the media does not want you to think and as someone pointed out above, there are people that do not even bother to open their eyes. Straight Democrat or Republican because that is how mom and dad did it.
