Both articles are most interesting, SGT John " Mac " McConnell. I never knew he was born in Alabama, the state of my birth. Chambers County is located in southeastern Alabama, and you must pass through the southwestern most tip of Chambers County if traveling from Birmingham to Auburn (home of the Auburn Tigers!) via Highway 280.
