As John Carradine once said "I've made some of the greatest films ever made - and a lot of crap, too.". When asked why he made such terrible movies when he was capable of making great ones, John Carradine replied "Because this is what I do for a living.".

What puzzles me is why I see products like "hair straightener" being marketed directly aimed at "The Black Community".

IF you don't want to look like the "race" you belong to, are you being "racist" against your own "race".

PS - It's been a long time since I had any need for products like "hair straighteners" (or even combs) and that was simply the first silly example that popped into my mind. Please feel free to substitute "Epicanthic fold removal surgery" or "dying hair blond/e" if you feel like it.

COL Ted Mc - It is a learned behavior goes back to slavery into this 21st Century, I witnessed a lot of this growing up in New Orleans. Darker skinned people is inferior and no good, lighter skinned people is better because he/she looked more white. That mentality is in my family and other families I know personally, most people learned better in life and changed that way of thinking, and others refuse to change and teach their children and grandchildren to continue that tradition. But thank God for allowing me to enlist in the military to learn about different people and cultures from all walks of life, since I know better I'm teaching my children and grandchildren that we all God's creation that what is more important to me is to teach them better and others in the community whoever is willing to hear and learn. This problem will always exist in this life time, but I can only do my part to show others this world isn't half as bad we work together instead against each other. There are other people in different races don't feel good about themselves and trying, acting, doing, and to look like outside of their race. This is my two cents on this, I can't change it but I won't allow it to change me.
