Army has no plans to drop 'man' from combat job titles

I read about this yesterday and was trying to come up with a different word than 'man'. I couldn't come up with a sensible word that included women and men's titles. Now today, the question is moot. We'll see how the Army's decision plays out.

SGT (Join to see) It is beyond ridiculous for any branch to change the job titles--i have yet to see anyone who subscribes to such a change except a few politicians.

Gotta agree with you on that SSgt Terry P.. PC has gone way overboard in my estimation. It shouldn't even have to be a decision on changing the job titles. I read about things like this and I think, how stupid is this.

I remember when I was in the Navy (1979) and they changed our titles from WAVE's to WIN's (Women in the Navy)... everyone did a huge eye roll back then... and, 33 years later... YAWN... this is what we spend all those billions of dollars on!!

SGT (Join to see) - Doing OK, going through a huge work transition... after 18 yrs at Volt (Nortel Networks) and lots of layoffs, last month, my whole group got let go. So, I'm trying to decide if I can actually make a go of helping unemployed Veterans full time right now... How are you?
