House panel advances $610 billion spending plan with bigger pay raise, more end strength

Wait until January 2017!! President Trump will do better than that! It will be huge! It will be spectacular!!!

I would be surprised if this is passed. Remember we are in an election year and Politicians will do anything to make themselves look good. Don't worry though. Everything will balance out once they are elected. Watch out for a.5 percent raise.

I doubt it will make it. These types of increases are usually just for display, to show they "support the troops" all along knowing it won't pass because of the sequestration limits. They are proposing that the President transfer funds from the temporary operating funds that are keeping our soldiers in Afghanistan supplied, and then ask for more money from congress later next year. Yeah, right. The tea party faction of the repubs is already telling Speaker Ryan they won't even support the current 2017 budget deal that increases the sequestration levels a little. So this increase won't happen until the repubs are williing to look at ways of increasing revenue as well as spending. This effort is all for show.
