I am still trying to figure out if when I was younger the candidates were all this bad or I just didn't fully understand what all was going on. Or I could just be less optimistic than I was before.

1237 number is the magic number for an automatic win. In this particular race, it's looking like 1100 will still constitute a majority, so yes, that should be a win. I think that the more likely scenario is a contested convention where the votes of the people no longer matter and the delegates (after enough rounds of voting) can vote any way they want....which will also result in Trump running as an independent and will also mark the last time I ever vote for a GOP candidate.

the last 5 GOP Conventions have been done with votes from the floor I believe. Reagan had to go thru 3 or 4 votes before he made it. Democrats don't have a contested convention. They just use super delegates to pick who they want, not who the people want.

My issue with Trump is over 50% of the GOP voters don't want him to run. The only reason the others didn't beat him was because there was too many running. If it had been just two Im thinking he would have lost anyway.

Every night I hope to wake up and realize this circus of an election has all been a bad dream. Whomever gets elected we are in for a long ride. If politics were not so corrupt we would see more of our retired Generals and more trusted officials running for election.
