This is great info to share, Sir. Please let me be the first to say it: VA is not giving you money. They are backing your ability to pay the bank back in order to help you secure more favorable terms.

CH (MAJ) Luke Phillips - Sir, I get asked that question dozens of times a year. I think it's because people colloquially refer to it as the "VA Home Loan." Nonetheless, it's a darn good benefit of our service.

It's actually not guaranteed. I've been trying myself. Yes, I'm working hard to improve my credit. So the VA doesn't tell all that has a honorable discharge about this.
I got out of the Navy thinking it was a 100% guarantee. So at least the VA explained it all to me.
