It is much easier to forgive and forget after a couple generations. Do you suppose the survivors of Batan or families of the 2000 Americans feel the same way? Do Germans and Japan appreciate what was done at the largesse of our taxpayer? All rhetorical questions. I have worked for Fujitsu, Siemens and one Canadian company and know the answers. Heck, 9/11 is history and we welcome refugees/ immigrant from the ME. After the way Kerry turned against his fellow warriors after returning from Vietnam, why not this?

Hiroshima glows less than the Fukushima reactor, which is a self-inflicted wound that is poisoning residents as well as fish in the Pacific Ocean.

Now President Obama is supposedly going over and will apologize to Japan for dropping two nuclear weapons on two of their cities? Any thoughts on this?
