U.S. Veterans Affairs bosses in 7 states manipulated vets' wait times for care

Supervisors instructed schedulers to falsify patient wait times at Veterans Affairs' medical facilities in at least seven states, according to newly released investigation reports from the department’s inspector general.
The manipulation gave the false impression that the facilities in Arkansas, California, Delaware, Illinois, New York, Texas and Vermont were meeting VA performance measures for shorter wait times.
The reports detail for the first time since the Phoenix VA wait-time scandal in 2014 how widespread scheduling manipulation was throughout the VA. Investigators previously have said manipulation was “systemic” but they did not identify which facilities had problems and how serious they were.
The investigations found that employees at 40 VA medical facilities in 19 states and Puerto Rico regularly “zeroed out” veteran wait times, which masked growing demand as new waves of veterans returned from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and as Vietnam veterans aged and needed more health care.

Heads need to roll for this; if they have not got the message that corruption is not tolerated by now they will never learn and they need to be replaced with honest administrators.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs sadly, bad press and the VA have become synonymous. This is an organization that at its heart is meant for the care of our nation's warriors. Their mismanagement, and general disdain for Veteran's is horrendous. It is really sad when a restaurant that gives a military discount, and free meals to veterans on Veteran's Day is doing more for our brothers and sisters in arms than the hospital built for them.

My friends Dad was at the VA in LA. When he complained about how he was being treated, the nurse told him " I didn't ask you to serve my country". And one of the workers was saying sexual explicit things to his wife. They are waiting to get him out of there before they complain. This should never happen. What is wrong with these people?

She may have not asked him to serve her country, bur I bet she enjoys all the freedoms that the Vetrans fought to give her. And if she feels that way, maybe it's time for her to f I ND a new profession!
