Turned this one off shortly after receiving it. Looks great, but the good LCDR has a point.

LOL Aww you guys its not bad. At night I just turn the ringer off on the phone but during the day its cool. like the long days at sea in the 70's before dvd, cd's or internet. Had cassette tapes, 3 ships radio stations and cards. Spent a lot of time sitting on the flag bridge watching flight ops, or watching the radar on the NTDS. The ships bell reminded me when it was time to go stand in long lines for two hockey pucks on the starboard side mess decks...LOL something one of you never did and something the other did but long ago before making chief...LOL

I always thought it was weird how inaccurate the Ships Chronograph was. But that was the standard...

I don't think I would want my phone ringing bells every 30 minutes though...

LOL mine are pretty loud too. Takes me back to being in the middle of the Pacific or the South China Sea on board the USS Enterprise. That ship was spit and polish and did ALL the Navy traditions Including bugle calls for Mail Call and all the rest. Still remember the always annoying "Now lay before the mast all 8 o'clock reports. LOL

I found "all hands" on the Bosn' Pipe annoying - especially before GQ - as if there weren't enough alarms and noise already...

LOL I could always tell when GQ was about to sound. Gave me a head start. My GQ Station was the O-12 Level. Radar 3 on The Enterprise and trust me from CIC to Radar 3 without going across the flight deck was a LONGGGG hall. Dang 0-3 level was knee knocker every 15 feet the full length port and starboard side and then up 9 decks before they dog the hatches. I have fell into the door right at Now set material Condition Zebra through out the ship.

Sounds really hard. Especially if you are junior and don't get to use the elevators (I was on Long Beach - I know from the run from CIC - or Main Control - to the top)...
