Not a good Easter Song at all. Jesus Christ Super Star was not even a remote attempt at telling the story of Christ accurately or correctly. It is actually sacrilegious and tells a completely false story about Christ.
SSG James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" I would think you would know better than to praise something like this as a believer.

Understood James....The entire Rock Opera is an affront (and was intended to be) to Christianity. The goal was to make Jesus just another guy, misunderstood, certainly not divine etc.
The song has Mary Madeline singing in regard to her "love" for Jesus but not in the way you might think. She has the hots for him and he is, well, "just a man". Not something you would expect to see in any Church's hymnal.
Here are the lyrics for you. Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber:
I don't know how to love him,
What to do, how to move him.
I've been changed, yes, really changed.
In these past few days when I've seen myself
I seem like someone else.
I don't know how to take this
I don't see why he moves me.
He's a man, he's just a man.
And I've had so many men before
In very many ways:
He's just one more
Should I bring him down? Should I scream and shout?
Should I speak of love - let my feelings out?
I never thought I'd come to this - what's it all about?
Don't you think it's rather funny
I should be in this position?
I'm the one who's always been
So calm, so cool, no lover's fool
Running every show
He scares me so.
I never thought I'd come to this - what's it all about
Yet, if he said he loved me
I'd be lost, I'd be frightened.
I couldn't cope, just couldn't cope.
I'd turn my head, I'd back away,
I wouldn't want to know -
He scares me so.
I want him so.
I love him so.

Cpl Jeff N. SSG James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" Capt Walter Miller PO1 William "Chip" Nagel although late to the celebration, yes! Much of this production can be likened to the reaction of the public to returning Vietnam vets. Scorned, mocked, slapped in the face. This is not meant to glorify God. Also, in my Bible (several versions) Mary Magdalene was a harlot but was forgiven and became a follower. Was it not the parable of a whore that gave us the great phrase "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone?"

You guys might not know it but I am pretty much a bleeding heart liberal.
When 'Jesus Christ Superstar' first came out in 1970, it was picketed and protested in Chattanooga. Mama made sure we went and saw it.

Capt Walter Miller - Anything that falls outside the Traditional Passion Plays that used to be used to Blame the Jews can be Problematic for Fundamentalist. This was a Favorite of my Mothers who was a Lay Minister in the Catholic Church.
