Holy crap. Read the article. This is more of a serious issue than merely banning someone for speaking against Islam. This school (and district?) is actively promoting Islam with bias, and not teaching historical significance. A historical reference to Islam would be memorizing historical Muslim empires like the Ayyubid, Abbasid, and Ottoman caliphates. Not memorizing scriptures. That's called an attempt to convert. It is not acceptable regardless of the religion, and if it were Christianity, the school would certainly face several lawsuits. Unbelievable.

For sure SPC Corbin Sayi and the Muslim community think its just another case of the anti-Islam campaign being waged in this country. Thats hogwash!

We spent a lot of time at our daughter's school. We reviewed the course syllabus for every class that covered what we felt was a matter of opinion, The syllabus would state a learning objective, but not what was going to be taught. Example: "Teach girls what their role is in the family". Nowhere in the syllabus did it say what that role was, what the students would be told. When I enquired what the details were of the learning objective I got "politician" answers. Finally, the Principal stated that they require to provide the syllabus, nothing more. My wife and I asked if that role was the school's responsibility to decide or ours. In a round about way, they said parents can't be trusted with those kind of learning objectives. So we rallied parents and repeated our questions at the school board meetings. The outcome was that any parent was free to observe any class their child was in. After three weeks of me attending every class, the teacher decided it was easier to give me detailed material. Even in small town America, government will over reach if you do not watch it like a hawk.
At my daughter' request, I didn't opt her out of classes, because she felt it would have marked her for ridicule. But we discussed what was being taught. Every Friday, I came to school and picked up every handout for the class. The Principal made it very clear I was a nuisance. I told her I'd stop If I could teach her kids 5 hours a week, about subjects that belonged at home and not school. She did not take me up on my offer.
