That is warrior speak, not the watered down "professional soldier" speak we get today from most generals. They are more concerned about offending someone than motivating anyone. Always thinking about the politically correct thing to say, worrying that someone might file a complaint, perhaps even a SHARP complaint. Will this hurt my career? a promotion? my next assignment? Patton and men cut from that cloth worried about winning. There is no substitute for winning.
There are still some Patton's out there. General Mattis was one, there are others. They are the rare breed that could lead an army (or Corps) just about anywhere and win.

Thanks for this. George C. Scotts' version is all I have ever seen or heard before. Very strong points here we would be good to remember and live by.

I admire Gen Patton and his leadership. One of the best books I read while at Academic Instructors Course at Maxwell, AFB AL and again and the SNCO Academy at Gunter Annex was "The Patton Principles". If you ever get a chance to read it, I highly recommend it. A must have to get another insight into Patton.
