COL Mikel J. Burroughs if the voters choose Donald Trump, and the Party chooses someone else, the party will lose the White House. Trump will run independent based on his following. Meaning the Republican infighting bequeaths the presidency to the Democrat nominee.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - Neat idea.
If my reading of the Constitution is right, if no one gets a majority, the election is thrown into the House of Representatives for selection of the President and the Senate will pick the VEEP.
Kinda' messy to my way of thinking.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - I just remember conventions when there was movements to draft someone other than those who were running.

CW4 Guy Butler
Sgt John Koliha That's after the electoral college votes after the general election in November. Has absolutely nothing to do with the party convention and nominating process.

I remember some discussion I got before I head over to Guam ... ... Someone said Republican party is different than Democratic party.
Well ... ... looks like they are not much different from each other.

Not as different as you think. The Democrats too pick the candidate, and, it is possible to be someone who was never even running. Not likely, but possible. Oooops, misread you post PO3 (Join to see)
