If President Obama nominates someone whom the Senate had previously confirmed by a 97 - 0 vote, it's going to be interesting to see how the GOP can [a] justify not even considering that person, or [b] justify flip-flopping.
I have unbounded faith that the GOP will come up with something to avoid looking like dolts, whether anyone will buy it is something completely different.

If they refuse to even consider a nominee, and if I were Mr. Trump (which I am EXTREMELY grateful I am not), then I'd call on the sitting Republican Senators to "do their constitutional duty for the good of the nation". This would solidify his support to the point where the Republican Party could not risk not running him as its candidate (or even, shudder at the thought, having the Republican candidate come in third in the election).
