Here is another bit of information concerning jobs and the labor market in the civilian world which might give a few insights when looking at yr options. Example: If you are considering forming a rock-band and playing in the clubs for a living, you might look elsewhere than here in Austin as we have all of them we can use.

Something to keep in mind which is starting and will only grow is the "Silver Tsunami". Baby Boomers will start leaving the workforce in droves between now and 2020. There will be many opportunities opening up... and some may just be eliminated. I know when I transitioned out there was talk about how the GSA system would be affected with baby boomer retirements and the shortages they would have in employees.
