Its a shame that such a worthy project gets tainted by selfish morons who are just in it for the money. I hope they recover and get back to doing good for wounded vets and their families.

I saw this organization and its' efforts while at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Noteworthy at first, they have pursued lawsuits against every person/organization that would dare to put "warrior project" in its name for fear of siphoning money away from them. Talk about irony! After seeing that they were indeed not for the wounded warrior, I have ceased giving money to this organization until they get rid of the current CEO.

Steve Nardizzi, the current CEO, who is not even a military veteran, was brought into WWP by the original founder, who IS a military veteran, to help build the organization which the original founder already had a great start on. Nardizzi saw the money he could make and forced the original founder out of his own organization after bringing some of his own people onto the board of directors.
The original founder learned a hard lesson that I hope other veteran organizations will take notice of and that is to be careful who you appoint to your board of directors.
Note: This is not "hearsay", but facts that I am privy to.
I would like to see this organization become what it was originally meant to be again, but that would take appointing a whole new board, which I do not see happening.

The CEO is an asshat. "Nardizzi is an advisory board member of the Charity Defense Council, an outfit with lofty ambitions. The organization wants to remake the entire charitable sector to be more permissive of high overhead and high executive compensation, explicitly citing as its model the oil industry’s efforts to rehabilitate its public image."
They also sold donor information to third parties for a $1,000,000.
