I had orders to 65 during her CROH in Newport News, in 93. The ship cancelled them on me...

Thanks for sharing an interesting history PO2 Mark Saffell of the legacy of ships named Enterprise which I thought was more modern.
I was interested that the first one was serving in the 1820s. "On March 6, 1822, a 12-gun schooner named Enterprise captured four pirate vessels in the Gulf of Mexico. The event is little known, not well documented, and it was one of her last operations before sinking in the West Indies a year later."

Your very welcome. I believe the first one was a captured British ship and was renamed Enterprise. Most don't know that the very first Shuttle was also named Enterprise. It didn't have engines and was used to test the landings off of a 747. I watched it land out in CA before the first shuttle was launched into space. The First Star Trek Movie when Kirk was talking about there mission to the crew all of the Enterprises in History where on panels behind him talking, including the Shuttle.

I know this sound crazy but one of my ships was the USS Constitution (Ole Ironsides) at the Charlestown Navy Yard & guarded by Marines stationed at the historic barracks there. Best duty I ever had
