SGT John " Mac " McConnell Thanks! As a tanker pilot, we normally give away most of our gas, which makes a typical mission about 5 hours. Mission planning, preflight and postflight debrief makes it a 9 or 10 hour day. Just about perfect. My butt has gone numb in 13 hour missions, so I cannot imagine 94 hours in a weakly pressurized cabin with cold-soaked steel seat. I flew out of Carswell 1987-1990.

After that ! I am sure the crew was just completely wore out. Thanks Col Joseph Lenertz

SGT John " Mac " McConnell I imagine that the cockpit, and crew were pretty ripe after landing. Still, like the great white fleet, it showed the world that the U.S. had the ability to project force wherever they wanted to do so.
