I think "it depends" was the most significant truth in this article. Go back to the pillars of authority: Legal, Moral, Expertise, Charisma. If the moral pillar is adequately developed, I don't worry about power corrupting. If it corrupts me it corrupts my basis for authority. That is why the USMC indoctrinates leader with certain dogma. Best example Chow time. If there is not enough for everybody, the answer is not divide up diminished rations. Junior troops eat first. Officers eat last.

I would like to write a couple things I have noticed in Warrior Transition Units and the VA. Some of the workers feel power over SMs and Veterans. I think this is based on the relationship that we need them, therefore, they have power. It really pisses me off as this perceived power may turn into abuse.
Leaders of large organizations are often pragmatic. Mission first is the most important leadership variable. This will the backdrop of breaking the rules or uncaring leadership due to the pragmatism.
