EASTERN REGION U.S. PROMOTIONS MANAGER

‘XYZ’ PRODUCTS is the leading name in athletic training and sports medicine. As a part of the CLIENT’S family of brands, XYZ joins Client’s PORTFOLIO to redefine the concept of athletic training solutions. This broad spectrum of preventative, injury treatment and rehabilitation products creates a unique opportunity to provide solutions in rehabilitation, recovery and performance. We are currently seeking a Regional Promotions Manager within the Eastern US to drive the growth of this powerhouse family of brands in the athletic training and sports medicine markets.

Primary Duties

Manages and directs the day to day activities of all direct sales representatives within the assigned region. Travels regularly with both CLIENT and distributor representatives calling on current and prospective customers within the athletic training community.

Drive the formulation and implementation of short-term and annual territory channel management plans and objectives to increase company sales and profitability in the athletic training category. Ensure that CLIENT’S products receive the proper promotional focus in the athletic training market to maximize annual purchases.

Based on criteria that are job related, consistent, and measurable is responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training of associates. Includes planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and giving guidance, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Develop and implement strategies for sales staff calls and participate in key customer meetings. Act as the driving force to maintain and grow customer relationships throughout the trade and assure that XYZ provides a high degree of customer service support through our sales force.
Develop a broad base of knowledge about XYZ and CLIENT’S products and their clinical and technical application. Reinforce the value proposition and quality reputation of all products to effectively communicate and sustain differential advantages across both business categories.

Help sales team to monitor and analyze Dealer catalogs and websites to maximize the visibility of all assigned products and achieve priority product placement vs. competitors.
Analyze indicators of territory performance (e.g. sales vs. forecast, actual vs. plan average selling price, mix, utilization and other relevant indicators), identify and assess potential areas of concern for assigned territory. Recommend proactive and remedial strategies/tactics as needed to assure attainment of annual sales plan.

Participate in the forecasting of annual product sales and help maintain forecast based on observed performance and market conditions.

Report on market trends to ensure the company’s management maintains a high level of awareness of market opportunities and competitor activities.

Represent XYZ/CLIENT at industry conventions and tradeshows to maintain and support the company’s status within the profession.

Work with the Marketing team on the development of new sales tools, product promotional literature and marketing communication programs. Make recommendations on product pricing and necessary availability and timing.

Work with the product management team to conceptualize and recommend new product ideas, product line extensions, as well as new product design and packaging. Identify and communicate new industry trends and emerging technologies to increase the company’s market competitiveness and profitability.

Represent XYZ/CLIENT in a courteous and professional manner to promote the company’s image to its target audience by striving to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university; five to ten year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Orthopedic, sports medicine, or surgical background preferred. Sales training experience is also highly desirable.

Previous demonstrated success within a complex multi-layered sales environment. Prior experience managing and driving business strategies/programs through distributors and partners of diverse backgrounds

An average of 100+ nights per year travel is required
