This distro looks awesome! A new distro based on Debian? I am going to have to give it a shot.

SGT (Join to see) - Sounds like a good idea. I tried the bleeding edge at one time with Fedora. I ended up switching back to a more stable distro with Mint.

It's been out since 2004 under a few different names and has been based on Debian and Ubuntu at various times. What's bleeding edge about this, apart from them departing from Gnome 3 years ago for their own DE? Not trying to be rude. I'm genuinely interested in what the hype is about.

SSG Nathaniel Bendel - Agreed, it is not as bleeding edge as say Gentoo is, but it all depends on what your definition of bleeding edge is. For some, having a distro based on the Debian (unstable) branch makes it bleeding edge. For others, having a distro integrate new tech directly into their release before it is fully tested by the community makes it bleeding edge. What makes it interesting, at least to me, is how they are creating not only their own DE, but their own programs to do basic tasks as well. Watching how the integration between their tech and other Linux programs will be interesting. Will it ever become my go to distribution, no, but watching it mature maybe fun.

SSG Nathaniel Bendel and SSgt Mark Lines , you're not being rude. It was bleeding edge at the time because it had just been released and it was NOT stable at that time. I learned about WPS, an alternative for Libre Office, through deepin 2014.3. The hype comes from its extremely loyal fanbase. There are a lot of people who back this religiously, it seems. This is still my top viewed blog post.
