I remember a time at AIT Infantry school. We had a Private E2 acting squad leader and every time the drill sgt would give duties and whom was involved. This private would ask the drill sgt who? Of course the drill sgt. did not like repeating himself to our acting squad leader.
Punishment was immediate. But, that wasn't enough. Drill sgt started calling him Private Owl. And made said private to say " who " in succession 3 times. Just about every formation we had The drill sgt. would inform us of training, duties, etc...... Then yell " you got that Private owl ? " Who...who ..who...Drill sgt ! Hard to control our laughter.... But it made us pay attention to detail and get it right the first time....
