British Woman Is Convicted of Joining ISIS

Tareena Shakil, 26, of Birmingham who took her toddler with her in 2014. She was found guilty of membership in the Islamic State and "encouraging acts of terrorism through measures posted on Twitter." She denied the charges. In the video she describes being taken into Syria as a bride to an ISIS soldier. The jury put more weight onto the fact that she posted pictures of herself and her child (which she took to Syria with her), with the IS flag and other propaganda material, calling for people to join ISIS in her tweets and other media posts. She was found guilty of membership in the Islamic State. Only she and those she was with know the truth about what she did there and the reasons for it but the evidence is damning and it seems she will be made the poster child for the effort to deter women from becoming IS brides.
