I live near there part time and it has sat empty, for the most part, for 30 years, perhpas more. LA has the largest veteran homeless population in America, obviously because it is warm most of the year. I hope this works! Thanks.

You can't appreciate this story properly without some historical context. It seems that the VA got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and maybe now are trying to cover the trail of crumbs. The Los Angeles VA facility sits on land that once housed a thriving community of veterans. It was donated by a former Senator and businessman. The VA later annexed and converted it to their own "use". Well, after kicking out the veterans, they used part of it to build a hospital. The rest was rented to civilian businesses and, wouldn't you know it, no one could account for the rental income. Imagine that.
