The article is correct. An attacking force can't forage it's way to ISIS strongholds. However, neither can ISIS forage their way out. Therein lies the most workable strategy: Blockade and isolation. Of course such a strategy would require effective cooperation from all surrounding nations. Also, we would have to get much better at border security; much better than we have done so far between Mexico and the United States.
Supposing it could be done, a lot of "innocent" people caught within would suffer along with ISIS. Of course, that issue presupposes that there are any "innocents" yet remaining that ISIS itself hasn't exterminated.

Oh, and is that dog whistle racism? If so it is not very subtle.

"It would be simpler to isolate ISIS from the cybersphere than it is to isolate if from the geosphere."
You never even -dreamt- of that until I said it.
Why would you tell a whopping lie like that?
Nor is that so easy.
Some of the Paris shooters were chatting on the internal chat feature for the game "Gears of War."
Did you know that?
I am going to get you some Fisher Price toys.
I am sure you can master the 5-8 Year ones.

"You really are intentionally insulting, aren't you?"
In the Marine Corps, mean practical jokes and hazing -never- stop. You either learn to give as good as you get or you whine about it.
The way you do.

Capt Walter Miller - Again, insulting. As I've observed before it is extremely juvenile behavior, surprising in someone who served as a commissioned officer in the US military. And, no, your comment wasn't "hazing". You were denigrating my comment, not with a reasoned response, but merely by attacking me personally. Now, please don't think that I'm really speaking to you inasmuch as that would be an obvious waste of time and energy. I am merely leaving a record of my observations as a warning to others who may have the misfortune of interacting with you in this forum.
