A combat disabled veteran felt driven to do more for veterans after a marine friend of his committed suicide due to post-traumatic stress disorder.
That drive led to an overwhelming response by the community to accomplish Victor Lezama's vision of a central location that will provide services, recreation and camaraderie for all veterans. Lezama is owner of PC Landing Zone and is 60 percent disabled, he said.
Lezama said an 1,800 square-foot building called The Barracks will be opening within the next four to six months as a "one-stop shopping" experience for all veterans. The location will be announced later.
