The Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) union contract requires the agency hire bureaucrats over veterans for most jobs, despite federal laws and regulations that give vets hiring preference in the civil service.
The Master Agreement between the VA and the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) states, “Prior to considering candidates from outside the bargaining unit, the department agrees to first consider internal candidates for selection … in all cases … first and full consideration shall be given to any best qualified candidates within the facility.”

I work for the VA as a federal employee and contractors are pretty much taking over everything. I'm seeing more and more of them everyday. They want people they can fire without cause

What did I ever do to you? Here I was, basking in the joy of waking up again on the bright side of the grass, and you just had to post this. Ever since bureaucrats were allowed to unionize, America has suffered. Not just us veterans. All America. The dues they collect go to support politicians who support them with greater wages and benefits. With higher wages and benefits, bureaucrats can pay more dues. More dues, more campaign contributions. Money is power. Power is money.
